PROVIDE 21,000 BTU’S OF HEAT PER RING, PER DAY – FOR FREE!
Tested at the National Pool Industry Research Center at Cal Poly University, Solar Sun Rings™ proved a total heat input of 21,000 BTU per day for EACH unit!
What Are Solar Sun Rings? The Solar Sun Ring™ is a passive solar swimming pool heating device made from two sheets of heavyweight U.V. resistant vinyl. The upper clear layer holds insulating air and focuses sunlight on the blue colored lower layer. The blue layer absorbs about 50% of the sunlight and converts it to heat. The balance of the sunlight is allowed to pass through for deep water heating.
How Do Solar Sun Rings Work? At night the contained air acts as an insulating blanket to retain heat gained during daylight. Solar Sun Rings are equipped with six magnets to improve clarity and decrease hardness of the water in your pool. The magnets are positioned to facilitate rafting. The strength of the magnets will permit single position removal but will easily separate to prevent entrapment in accidental falls.
Solar Sun Rings were designed to be compatible with automatic pool cleaners. In the event the cleaner hose catches on a ring, the ring will separate from the other rings to allow the pool cleaner to continue. Neither water nor pool chemicals can evaporate through the Solar Sun Rings' two layers of heavyweight vinyl. You will save water and chemicals about equal to the percentage of the pool surface that is covered by the Solar Sun Rings. Once the water in your pool has reached adequate temperature, the Solar Sun Rings may be turned over to conserve water by limiting evaporation without significantly heating the water.
How Many Solar Sun Rings Do I Need? We recommend enough Solar Sun Rings to cover 70% to 80% of your pools surface, ignoring the small triangles between the rings.

Are Solar Sun Rings Compatible With My Pool? Solar Sun Rings may be used on all chlorine or salt water system pools, whether in-ground or above-ground.
How Do I Clean My Solar Sun Rings? After removal from the swimming pool, Solar Sun Rings can be easily cleaned with a sponge and mild detergent.
Solar Sun Rings Help Your Pool Stay Clean. Your pool requires some direct sunlight and open water to stay healthy. The open water around the raft of Solar Sun Rings and the triangle caused by the convergence of three Solar Sun Rings is by design. These open areas allow your pool to receive some direct sunlight. This sunlight will greatly reduce the incidence of mustard algae.
- Each ring is 60" in diameter.
- Two-year manufacturer warranty.
- Each ring includes one leak repair patch kit.
- Model #SSR-1.
- Each Sun Ring comes individually wrapped in a sealed package. We cannot accept opened packages for return.
- If you live in a high wind area, these rings will blow off your pool.
Inner Grid: The inner grid should be inflated orally with about two large breaths of air for an average person. Do not use more air, two breaths is all that is needed. Close the valve. Bunch up the SSR and move the contained air around to separate both layers of plastic. The SSR cannot be made to lie flat unless the layers are separated. The SSR should be about the size of a soccer ball when bunched up.
Outer Ring: Inflate the outer ring orally until it is firm. Close the valve. Place each SSR single layer in direct sunlight on a flat non-abrasive surface until the packing lines relax. This should take from 30 minutes to 3 hours depending on the intensity of the sun. If the SSR does not lie flat after the packing lines are relaxed, examine the SSR for areas not separated. If the SSR still does not lie flat measure the diameter. A properly inflated SSR is 59 inches or 149.86cm in diameter. If the SSR is smaller use the deflation tube provided to let air out of the inner grid until it lies flat. Excessive air in the grid section, deep packing lines and failure to separate both layers of plastic will all cause the outer edge to curl and distort.
Once inflated, proper care of this product will greatly extend its useful life. Do not drag Solar Sun Rings on pool decking as it is designed to be abrasive to prevent slips and falls and will grind holes in the Solar Sun Rings. Do not walk on the Solar Sun Rings or magnets even with bare feet. Do not move or clean Solar Sun Rings with a wire brush.
With common sense care Solar Sun Rings will give years of efficient service. For the greatest solar effect maintain proper inflation and keep the upper surface clean with a soft sponge and mild detergent solution.
